Service and music disclaimer

The first public release candidate uses Apple Music only. Spotify and Soundiiz features remain in separate TestFlight builds 31–33 and are not enabled in the public release candidate. Public App Store availability is not yet confirmed.

Mixtape helps you save and share song references and personal messages. Music playback, catalogue availability and artwork are supplied through Apple Music or the original linked service. An Apple Music subscription, a compatible device, permission and an available recording may be required. Availability can vary by country and change over time.

Mixtape does not supply ownership of recordings, distribute audio files through its sharing service or grant permission to copy, redistribute or commercially use music or artwork. Apple Music and other service names and marks belong to their respective owners. Mixtape is independently operated and is not endorsed by Apple, Spotify, Soundiiz, Instagram, YouTube or WhatsApp.

In TestFlight builds 32–33 only, songs shared individually from Apple Music or Spotify can be saved in the same mixtape. Those test builds offer Apple Music or Spotify for a separate playlist copy. The public candidate offers Apple Music only. Apple Music export uses MusicKit after you review recordings and confirm creation. Spotify export uses Soundiiz: you approve sending the playlist name and selected recording details, then finish account connection, match review and transfer approval on Soundiiz. Mixtape does not collect Spotify credentials or silently create the Spotify playlist in the background. The temporary import link is normally valid for 24 hours and anyone who has it can view its tracklist. Returning to Mixtape is not proof of transfer completion.

The Soundiiz handoff accepts up to 200 selected songs; larger lists must be reduced explicitly. The services may fail to find exact recordings, remixes or regional releases. Check the finished playlist. Exports are separate copies and later Mixtape changes do not automatically synchronize. Soundiiz has its own account, privacy terms and plan limits at Soundiiz privacy and terms and current plans. Mixtape does not require its own Spotify developer configuration for this handoff.

Only send content you are entitled to share. Do not use Mixtape for harassment, threats, hate, sexual abuse, exploitation or other unlawful or harmful content. Use the in-app reporting and blocking controls when needed. Support is not an emergency service; contact local emergency services if someone is in immediate danger.

“Private” collections and drafts are not shared with other ordinary users. Signed-in cloud backups are server-readable and are not end-to-end encrypted. People who receive your messages can retain or share their copies. Delivery status is not proof that someone has read or played a song.

Age-range checks use Apple's available response and are not a guarantee of independently verified identity or age. Device, Screen Time and Apple Music restrictions still apply.

Mixtape is currently free to use. Apple Music, mobile data and other third-party services may have separate charges. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service or availability of a particular recording. Nothing in this notice excludes or limits rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including applicable consumer rights.

This explanatory notice is not a substitute for the privacy notice, Apple's licence terms or a completed set of service terms. It does not authorise uses outside the applicable music-service permissions.
